MobaNode was founded in October 2007 and is an award winning mobile design company specialising in engaging directly with consumers by developing and delivering personal, targeted, relevant applications and content to mobile devices.
MobaNode has worked on mobile strategies with many international brands such as IRB (International Rugby Board), eMobile (Eircom), Nokia, Absolut Vodka, Heineken, Carlsberg and more. More specifically, in the Event and Tourism sectors MobaNode has built applications for the major Irish Music Festivals (Oxegen & Electric Picnic), major cultural festivals (St. Patrick’s Festival, Absolut Fringe festival) and major tourist sites such as the Battle of the Boyne, Dublin Civic Trust and Kilkenny Castle to name but a few.
MobaNode was short listed for the TechCrunch Europa Awards, was a Munster Regional Finalist in the Intertrade Ireland Seedcorn awards and won the €60,000 Impact Media Elevate Award. MobaNode's founder Shane Mc Allister was nominated as a “Net Visionary” by the Irish Internet Association.
Shane Mc Allister started MobaNode in early October 2007. Prior to this, Shane Mc Allister was the Executive VP at MagneticTime, a text to speech software company, where he secured a first for an Irish software firm by closing a deal that saw MagneticTime's products being carried by Apple Computer's prestigious retail stores globally.
Previously, Shane spent 5 years as Director of Business Development and Channels for PrimeLearning.com, a VC backed eLearning firm specializing in soft skills training for the corporate market. Before this, Shane was head of design at Eurologic Systems, a data storage solutions manufacturer. He started his career as a product designer specialising in consumer electronic devices at Allies Design, an award winning product design consultancy. The above companies have all now been sold on (Shane takes the credit), or wound up (which Shane insists isn't his fault!). His entreprenurial skills go all the way back to when he bred tropical fish for sale to the local petshop in Dublin and highligh ted by leaving a permanent and pensionable job in the ESB early in his career to do a masters. Shane has every book ever published about Steve Jobs!
Shane holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics (aka "Wires and Circuits") from University College Dublin, and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Industrial Design (aka "Pretty pictures") from the University of Teesside in England.

Alan joined MobaNode full time in February 2012 having previously worked on contract for MobaNode for over a year until he was convinced to join full time . Alan graduated from Limerick Institute of Technology in 2007. He achieved a first class B.Sc. in Software development and was awarded the prize for dissertation of the year for his portable video game (what's a portable video game these days?). Following this Alan attended Trinity College Dublin to pursue his Masters in Interactive Entertainment Technology. He graduated with an M.Sc. in the autumn of 2008
Alan's a gamer (though we don't hold that against him) and has published a number of iOS gaming apps available on the AppStore - one of these days he'll earn enough off them to buy us all drinks!

Brian joined the MobaNode dev team in March 2012. Brian has a BA in English and Media and a Masters in Interactive Media. Dropped into the deep-end in iOS developing, Brian produced his first App 5 weeks later - MobaNode's Focal Me App - and one day we'll all retire from the huge proceeds of it! His BA in English means he gets handed the QA and testing jobs and to correct our Typos! We're trying to get him to learn Polish and Latvian too!
Brian's got the most gadgets in the office and both his iPhone and iPad are white so that makes him a hipster (though no sign of a fixie bicycle yet)

Maurice is a Senior Business Management Consultant & Interim Manager with a strong track record across multinational and Irish technology companies operating at an international level. More than 22 years’ experience in the technology industry filling many senior leadership roles (CEO, COO, CTO), Maurice is MobaNode's elder statesman and operations Guru. Maurice is a frustrated plumber, always talking about flows (cash) and pipes (customer pipelines) and he's into books (the accounting type). It's his name on the invoices when they go out!
Maurice is from Cork (but we don't hold that against him) and doesn't use a Mac
Maurice isn't on Twitter - but you can email him at maurice(at)mobanode.com
Dave began working part-time as a programmer for a multinational from age 15, until he graduated college with a first class honors degree in Software Development from LIT. While studying at LIT, Dave placed first in programming competitions and was awarded the highest final year project score in the department to date. Before the widespread popularity of apps, Dave worked on SMS solutions for companies with remote workers. What Dave doesn't know about code, isn't worth knowing in the first place. We tend to hide Dave away from customers as they distress him and make his head sore. He's so many steps ahead of us, we only have him in the office part time - and that's enough!
Dave has a beard which makes him look like a young Steve Wozniak

Mike is MobaNode's graphic artist and is responsible for all the "creative" imagery behind MobaNode's Content and Applications. Working part time, whilst not pursuing other interests, Mike holds a degree in sculpture (or so he tells us!) and quite how that qualifies him to do tasty graphics work in Photoshop all day is unknown, save to say he wields a Wacom digital tablet like no other.
